Content Is Priceless! Start Boosting Your Online Success Now!!!

As the Internet continues to mature, the effectiveness of the once tried and tested methods for driving traffic to your web site seems to be diminishing. Wouldn’t you agree? How much do you spend (or plan to spend) on the more traditional online advertising methods each year? Too much I’m sure, money that should have otherwise stayed in your pockets. And what return on your investment does this traditional method yield? Are you happy with these returns or should you be looking for alternatives?

Well, now for some good news. There are more effective options available. For example, did you know that your site CONTENT does more to build your online business and DRAMATICALLY INCREASE your profits than just about any other resource or service available? “CONTENT IS KING!!!” It’s extremely valuable and vitally important to your online success. It’s the lifeblood of all online businesses. Use it as a key to build your web traffic and your profits to AWESOME levels!

How CONTENT can help to build your traffic, your subscribers, and your customers, starting today!

#1: PUBLISH ARTICLES

The Internet has hundreds, if not thousands, of web sites where you can publish your articles for FREE. Yes, that’s right, for FREE. The more you write, the more you publish the quicker you build a reputation as an “expert” in your field. This hopefully translates into more traffic and more people eagerly awaiting your next article. Simply submit your articles to as many “content hungry” web sites and “newsletter/ezine publishers” as possible. Ensure all submitted articles are written in your own words, have full reprint rights (to re-use on readers web sites) providing the articles are kept 100% unchanged. And that means agreeing to include your 3-5 line “resource box”, complete with a working hyperlink to your website. This last part is most important! Readers must be able to directly click on a hyperlink to your web site to learn more about what you have to offer. Potentially every article you submit has the chance of making its way in front of hundreds of thousands of viewers. Can you start to see the power of this technique?

#2: GIVE AWAY “FREEBIES”

Let me state the obvious here, “Everyone loves FREEBIES!” Go on, tell me anyone who doesn’t like getting something for nothing. But in our Internet marketing business we don’t really give away something for nothing, do we? No, not really! We “give away” FREE content in the form of eBooks, Newsletters, Special Reports and the like with the hope people spread these around like wild fire, viral marketing as it is known in the trade. FREEBIES are also great as bonuses to subscribers and customers. Add that WOW factor by giving them something for FREE, totally unexpected!!!

#3: BOOST SEARCH ENGINE RANKINGS

The magic and power of writing and publishing ARTICLES should not be under estimated. Write about your niche often, embedding keywords into your articles. Publish these on your own site plus go the extra distance and publish these to as many FREE “Article Sites” as possible. You don’t have to do this all in one session. Spread it over several days or weeks. Once your articles are out there they continue to “work” for you day after day after day. Major benefits of doing this are it can dramatically boost your search engine rankings and daily visitor count. Imagine the possibilities …

#4: AUTOMATED TRAINING COURSES

Use your Auto responder to automatically email your opt-in list a FREE training course over a fixed period. The course can be anything from a 5 part to 20 part (or more) series, sent in daily or weekly intervals. Use it to build trust and credibility by providing FREE worthwhile CONTENT. Woven into each instalment can be website and affiliate link promotions. Also encourage recipients to forward the course onto family, friends and colleges on the provision they do so unchanged. Use the training course as a “BONUS” gift for potential subscribers to your newsletter or ezine.

#5: NURTURE YOUR OPT-IN LIST

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, “Your opt-in list (mailing list) is gold, your Aladdin’s Cave filled with treasures” Just having a list is one thing, the MOST IMPORTANT ELEMENT IS NURTURING YOUR LIST, building trust and credibility in their eyes. Let me say it one more time, “NURTURE YOUR LIST”. Send them valuable CONTENT over time, demonstrating your expertise in your niche. Do this well and your customers will buy without hesitation when you next send out your “paid” offers. Get this right and your opt-in list becomes a goldmine, as good as money in the bank.

Just a word of caution, do not insult your opt-in list with “make a quick buck” type products and services which are of poor content quality. In the long term this can have serious adverse affects on your business.

Remember, “CONTENT IS PRICELESS”. Get it out there to the masses using all of the methods above. Utilize CONTENT to build traffic, subscribers and customers to your site and profits to your bank account. What are you waiting for? Start boosting your online success today with CONTENT.

Thank you, good luck and here’s to your online success!

Critical Steps to Online Success–Generate your List Settings at AWeber

Critical Steps to Online Success–Generate your List
Settings at AWeber

I’m talking about AWeber here because that’s my main
Autoresponder.

I think I must be going mental to take on this task of
guiding you through this without the help of diagrams, but
let’s see how we go. When I first got started with AWeber I
remember it was a pretty confusing experience. Actually I
find all Autoresponders are lacking in really clear
documentation that a stumbling idiot like myself can
understand.

So open the AWeber website at http://www.aweber.com/and
if you haven’t already done so, go to the web form at the
bottom of the page and setup up your free 30 day test
drive. This truly is free and they are really good about
canceling if that’s what you choose to do. But don’t do
this yet unless you are now ready to get started and take
your squeeze page live. You don’t want to waste your 30 day
free trial.

Once you’ve set up your account you log-in to the member
area.

You will be on the “home” page. Across the top you will
see a blue navigation bar with a yellow navigation bar
directly below it. Left click on the “list settings” tab in
the blue area and then left click on the “Settings” tab at
the far left hand side of the yellow area.

The first thing to do here is to give your list a name. I
tend to operate with just one list and use the “Form Name”
designator to separate out where the leads came from…more
on this later. The name can be anything you like but should
be somewhat meaningful to you. For now you could call it
“mymainlist”. You can always change it later.

You then enter a short list description such as “My Web
Business Newsletter”. Make the name professional because it
will be viewable on your “unsubscribe page”. Now check
“Allow Multiple Unsubscribe”, enter your company name and
your main website URL and you’re done with this phase of
the setup.

We’ll revisit this topic and deal with “Verified Opt-in”
and “Custom Fields in another article.

Keep on Winning

The Foundation For Online Success

The most important ingredient for online success is the ingredient most people pass by. It’s the foundation. It’s the groundwork that forms the basis of everything you do thereafter. Without laying the foundation, all your efforts will produce inferior results. This article will briefly describe the first steps to building a successful online business.

The first thing you need to do is identify your target market. This may sound overly simplistic but you need to get specific here. Who is your market? Who are they? What do they do? What do they have in common? Try to get as specific as possible and write everything down. Make a series of bullet points describing your target market, your audience, your ideal customer.

Once you know who you’re targeting, you need to develop a list of keyword phrases. This should start with a visit to your competitors’ sites where you can view their meta tags and see what they’re targeting. The next step is to put your favorite keywords into the publicly-accessible Google keyword tool to see which words have the greatest organic search volume while encountering the least amount of competition.

Take those keyword phrases and enter them into a Google search to see what the competition is in the organic world (as opposed to the ppc world). And lastly, enter them into the WordTracker keyword tool to get an estimate of their actual daily search volume. With these four steps, you should be able to find a series of keyword phrases you can target that have the least amount of competition.

With your targeted keyword phrases in hand, you can begin writing your positioning statement. Your positioning statement should be between 15 and 25 words long and should accurately and concisely describe your business such that anyone reading it for the first time could immediately identify your business and core competency.

Your positioning statement should be included in your meta tags as your website description. It should also be included on your homepage so visitors will see it first when they enter your site. Lastly, your positioning statement should be used in every online location that includes a backlink to your website, including article directories, forums posts and email signatures.

Go back to WordTracker and get a one-day membership. Enter your chosen keyword phrases and print out the related words it generates. The search engines look for related words when they index your website and the best resource for determining the related words you should be using is WordTracker. The one-day membership will cost you about $8.

Keep the list of keyword phrases and their related words near by when you begin building out your website. You should get in the habit of incorporating them as often as possible on your individual webpages. This will become natural after a while but a conscious effort needs to be made at the beginning to develop the pattern. Your keywords should also be included in the meta tags of each page on your website, customized for the content on that particular page.

Taking these steps will leave you with a better foundation than 99% of the websites out there. It really doesn’t take that much time. You can do most of it in a single afternoon but the impact on your websites focus and search engine ranking will magnify all the other internet marketing activities you undertake. Lay the foundation first and move forward afterwards.

The One Key To Huge Online Success

If you’re at all human then you know how tempting it is to spend money as soon as you earn it. This is especially true with an online business.

How exactly can you avoid this common temptation and gain huge online success?

Or better yet you probably want to know: Why do I need to avoid doing this in order to have huge online success?

I know how it is when you receive your first online check. You get so excited, and the first thing you want to do is rush out and spend it.

There are things that you want to buy, things that you NEED to buy. Am I right?

Doing so will not lead to huge online success. Yet most people argue that they earned that money for the express purpose of spending it. So why shouldn’t they spend it?.

If you want huge online success, you’ll never get it with this attitude. There is only one thing I have to say to first time internet marketers:

What ever you do, DON’T spend that money!

If you do there won’t be a lot more where that came from, and without any more you’ll hardly be a “huge online success.” Once you spend that money it will be gone for good.

As internet marketing guru John Reese says: “You MUST sacrifice early profits to be a huge online success!”

Yup, sacrifice.

Thats a tough sounding word isn’t it?

Makes it sound heart rending and very painful, doesn’t it?

Although it may sound hard at first to sacrifice those early checks, it will pay off in the end. Because if you do it will lead to huge online success.

It really becomes quite easy to sacrifice early profits once you think it about it in the right light.

Here is my secret to huge online success:

I pretend that I didn’t get any money. Now of course I know that I actually did get money.

What I mean by pretending is that I handle all finances, and purchases as if I hadn’t just received a check in the mail.

If I didn’t have enough money to buy something I really wanted before I got the check, then I certainly don’t now. This takes quite some will power of course, but is really necessary if you want to have huge online success.

The “Method” Behind My Madness

The reason for all this is that you are going to reinvest this money you’ve earned (whether the amount is $10 or $100) back into your online business.

A truly good investment for this money would be using it to actively promote or learn how best to promote your product or an affiliate product. This investment is a great step towards your huge online success.

At first you will want to reinvest all of the money you earn, but as your profits get bigger and bigger you will be able to reinvest only half of the amount.

Here are a few of the various ways you can use to promote your product or someone else’s that can lead to huge online success:

1. Purchase a high quality product or software that will teach you the information you need to know to market successfully. Believe me it will be well worth your money and bring you a long way toward huge online success.

2. Become an advertiser on google adwords or any other quality Pay Per Click (PPC) Search Engine like Overture.

3. Get your product (if it’s electronic) listed on Clickbank. This costs a one time start up fee for your sellers account, but is well worth it.

Trust me, if you reinvest all of the small paychecks you receive and part of later bigger ones, you will continue to rake in the money and become a huge online success.

Now don’t just go and forget this information either. Put it to use. Take action in boosting your online sales by taking this one step that almost always guarantees huge online success.

Roadmap To Online Success – One Hour A Day, Five Days A Week

All great journeys begin with a single step. If you stand on the sideline and mutter to yourself about the distance, then you will never start your journey, let alone complete it.

As youngsters, we did not worry about time or distance. We only knew that we wanted to go, and we could not understand our parents’ insistence that something was too far away. Now, as adults, we sometimes let our adult sensibilities stand in the way of what we want.

Let me ask you a question. Have you ever thought to yourself that you would like to start your own online business and cash in on the success that others are experiencing on the Internet? If so, what is stopping you?

Many people tell me that they do not have the time to start or run an online business.

Other people tell me that they do not have the resources to start and run an online business.

Some people tell me that they do not have the requisite knowledge.

Does any of this sound familiar to you?

STOP! THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE SAYING.

How much television do you watch each week?

How much money do you squander on fountain soft drinks or snacks?

Have you ever watched an educational television program or asked a friend about something you wanted to learn about?

My point is this…

The sociologists tell us that the average American watches 15 hours of television each week. If you could bring yourself to give up one program each day — you decide which ones — then you would have all of the time that you require to start and operate a successful online business.

If you buy your soft drinks in two-liter bottles, you will pay as much or less for your soft drink habit as you currently spend on one 32-ounce fountain drink. The money you save on frivolous spending could more than pay for your web hosting and a bit of advertising.

It you have taken 15 minutes out of your day in the last year to learn something new, then you have the skills necessary to learn what you need to learn, to be successful in an online business. It doesn’t take much time or effort to learn what you need to learn, if you can find yourself a good mentor to help you get up to speed about this medium.

I have a full-time job, and yet, I have managed to successfully start two online businesses.

IT IS ALL ABOUT COMMITMENT

Commit yourself to one hour a day, $20-$30 per month, and one hour’s worth of education in a workweek. If you can meet these bare minimum requirements, then you too can find the success you desire and crave.

The definition of success varies from person-to-person.

Maybe success for you would be to earn an extra $100 per month, so that you can take the family to an extra movie a month or give your wife a “mom’s night off”, where she does not have to cook at all one day a month.

Maybe success for you would be to find an extra $250 per month so that you can afford to take those classes at the local University Extension, so that you can get that big promotion and big raise at your job.

Maybe success for you would be the extra $500 per month so that you can afford to pay for a new used car for you and your family.

Perhaps, your idea of success is much bigger. Maybe you want to earn enough from an online business so that you can quit your job. Maybe you hope to earn enough that you could leave that 60-hour a week job and have more time to spend with your family. That is definitely a goal worth aiming to achieve. Your kids will only grow up once.

HERE IS THE ROADMAP TO GET YOU STARTED

1. You do not have to have your own product or service to make money online. You can sell other people’s products and services, and you can earn a commission on those transactions. There are two types of programs available that can help you to sell other people’s products and services. They are called Network Marketing/MLM programs and Affiliate Programs. The Network Marketing/MLM variety tends to offer a more comprehensive system for making money.

2. Find a program that offers a variety of products and services so that you can extend your own product and service offerings and reach out to a wider marketplace.

3. Find a program that offers more tutorials and resources to help you to become successful.

4. Find a program that offers mentoring through their systems. Network Marketing/MLM type companies rely on the mentor structure to grow their businesses. With Affiliate Programs, you are often on your own. Mentor’s are individuals who are in the same business as you are, who are willing to guide you and help you to become successful in the business.

5. Commit yourself to one hour per day, five days per week, for learning about the business, and growing your online business.

6. Don’t give up on your business. Don’t give up on yourself. This should actually be the first item on my list. The Network Marketing model will not fail, if you put your mind and energy to following through with your plan. If anyone was to tell you that Network Marketing/MLM is a dead-end road, don’t listen to him or her. People who fail in Network Marketing/MLM are those who fail to make a commitment and fail to follow-through.

7. Don’t rely on the free website that the Network Marketing/MLM company provides to you. You can use this website to sell the companies products and services, but you do need to display it inside of your OWN domain. These days, you can register your domain for a year for much less than $20 per year, and you can get a good web hosting account for less than $30 per month. Your mentor can teach you how to set up your domain to host your web interface from your chosen Network Marketing/MLM program.

8. Try a couple of the products you sell through your Network Marketing/MLM program. In most cases, this is not a requirement, but it is a strong recommendation. Once you have used the product or service, you will understand much more about it, which will help you to tell other people about it and why they would want to purchase it.

If you use the resources that the company makes available to you, and you commit yourself to your $20-$30 per month and one hour a day, five days a week, you will soon find yourself basking in the success that you have desired for so long.

Don’t be afraid to contact your upline mentors. If you need help, ask for it. Your upline mentors are more successful, when you are more successful. It is in their best interest to help you find the success you so richly deserve.

Building Your Way To Online Success Part 5

We’ve spent some quality time with the first two crucial elements to a successful business startup.

Here’s a recap:

Step 1: DECIDE WHAT YOUR BUSINESS IS GOING TO BE

Step 2: CREATE A WEBSITE

With the next step we are actually only degrees of separation from Step 2: CREATE A WEBSITE. However, we will be designating a new step entitled “MARKET YOUR WEBSITE”. This new designation has the subtle distinction of moving your site from form and function to frequently visited through the use of common search engines.

STEP 3 then is: MARKET YOUR WEBSITE

If you’ve got a mental checklist going you’ve probably checked off site design, site content, and ease of use in navigation. The next item on your list is the actual launch of your website and the implementation of a comprehensive marketing campaign.

First, be sure you have determined what your most important keywords or key phrases should be. This information should include some research into what the end user is likely to select when conducting an online search. For repeat reference, keywords are the word or phrases that relate to a particular topic. Keywords or phrases are used to construct a search statement to locate information. In my previous article, I suggested that you need to add as many of these important keywords and key phrases throughout your website’s text as you can.

Before you officially launch your marketing campaign, you need to ensure that your “META TAGS” are properly constructed. A META TAG is a specific kind of HTML tag that contains information not typically displayed to the user. Meta tags are designed to contain information about the page itself, hence the name (”meta” means “about this subject”). Meta tags are a prime source search engines use to best categorize a page. The better the meta tag – the better your information will place in a search engine.

Meta Tags go between the “head” tags in your site’s html.

I suggest using these three major meta tags:

title:

This describes your site. Be sure to use your important keywords and key phrases. Search engines will see the site title first.

META description:

Depending on the search engine, this information will generally be displayed along with the title of your page in an index. “Content” could be a word, sentence or even paragraph used to describe your page. Keep this reasonably concise and to the point. However, don’t be so lean with your description that it does not adequately reflect the sites actual content!

META keywords:

Choose keywords or key phrases you deem appropriate then separate them by commas. Remember to include synonyms, Americanisms and so on. For instance, if you had a page dedicated to cars, you might want to include keywords such as car, cars, vehicles, automobiles and other similar keywords.

Each of these meta tags should be added to the html of your site between the “head” tags.

If your business provided customers with golfing equipment, you may add your meta tags as shown below:

Title: Golf equipment – Golf world golf equipment.

Notice I used Golf and golf equipment. These are the main keywords and key phrases I have chosen to target so I make sure they are included.

Once you’ve completed the above step you would use the following tag:

Use the description tag:

“Golf World, the premier site for golf equipment. Golf clubs and more!”

Once again, I used several of my most important keywords and key phrases.

The final step allows you to add your keywords meta tag:

“golf equipment, golf clubs, golf balls, golfing supply, callaway”

You may even want to add specific brand names if applicable.

Once you have these tags complete, be sure to place them between the “head” tags in your html.

If you are using a site builder such as our HighPowerSites builder tags are not required. Simply add your title, description and keywords from your site builder control panel. You will not have to deal with placing them in the site using the language of html. This user-friendly function is an asset for those who have limited to no experience with html.

Building Your Way To Online Success-Part 1

As your alarm clock explodes into life each morning, and you reach out to pound it back into submission for another ten minutes, does the thought ever cross your mind that there could be a way to end this same tired, old routine?

Each day, as you make your way to and from your workplace, amidst the fumes, frustration, and financial drain that is the lot of a commuter, do you ever dream of being able to step out of your bedroom and straight into your workplace?

If you’re a Star Trek fan, you may be thinking, “Yes! Beam me up Scottie”–but if that was your first thought, then I’m afraid you may have to wait a little while longer. Transporter technology hasn’t quite been perfected yet. However, in spite of that slight delay in scientific progress, there is still a way to have the commute-free lifestyle you’ve been longing for. In fact, there are many people who have already turned that dream into a reality by successfully building their own home-based online businesses.

For the online business owner, there are no traffic jams, no co-workers breathing down their neck, and best of all, no BOSS! What more could anyone ask?

It sounds wonderful, and it certainly can be. However, achieving the type of success that will free you from the 9 to 5 rat race, does not just happen by itself.

The unfortunate fact is that most people will never reach this level of business success–not because they don’t have what it takes, but rather because they aren’t willing, or prepared, to take the time and effort needed to establish a proper business structure.

Nonprofit Online Success: Tips for Achieving an Effective Web Presence

Now, right from the start, I’ll quite honestly say that this guide does not come with any absolute promises or guarantees. When it comes to business, there is no such thing as a “sure thing.” However, it does contain solid, time-tested procedures and advice that are essential for anyone who wants to succeed in any form of business. The new business owner ignores these things at their own risk–and, sadly, many do.

One of the main problems, when starting a business, is that many people begin with unrealistic expectations and the wrong information. If you do an internet search about starting a home-based business, you will be flooded with sites that promise to reveal the secrets of success that will help you to get rich quick. With titles such as, “How I Made $100,000 in 3 Days,” they tempt the budding entrepreneur with offers that seem too good to be true–and they usually are. Although it may be possible for someone to make a lot of money in a relatively short space of time, the reality is that for the vast majority, it is completely unlikely. Creating any form of successful business takes time, preparation, commitment and hard work.

Although many people want to start their own online businesses, very few actually know how to go about doing it … but that doesn’t stop them. Armed with little more than a desire to make money, they rush in and begin something that they are completely unprepared and unsuited for.

A quick search on any topic will provide a plethora of sites providing relevant products or services for sale. If you take the time to visit these websites, you’ll quickly notice that most are quite unprofessional in appearance, and have little, if any, chance of success. Why? Quite simply because the new business owner has started things off on the wrong foot.

There really aren’t any special secrets to starting an online business, but there are some basic steps that will help you build your way to an online success.

Step 1: DECIDE WHAT YOUR BUSINESS IS GOING TO BE

At first glance, this initial stage of starting a business appears incredibly simple, if not completely obvious. Yet you may be surprised to discover how many people are involved in a business for which they have no experience or training. In fact, many have not even taken the time to research the field at all.

It makes good sense to choose a line of business for which you have some affinity. For example, if you have experience in designing and creating handcrafted items, a potential business opportunity would be that of an online store devoted to selling your crafts, and those of other artisans. Because you have a background in this particular field, you would have an immediate rapport with your target audience, and be able to understand what is important to them regarding your type of product. You would also be able to provide accurate and interesting articles that are relevant to your field of expertise. As a marketing tool, many a business has been enhanced by the introduction of an informative newsletter.

So, experience in your chosen field is definitely a big advantage. But there is one other thing that is vital–and that’s passion. There is no question that a person who is passionate about their business will have a far greater chance of seeing it become a success, than would someone who is ambivalent about their product or service. Believe me, I speak from experience.

Many years ago, my wife started cleaning homes as a way of earning another income, and she did very well.

A few years later, seeing the opportunity to make money, I decided to get involved in the cleaning business too, and I also did quite well. However, even though I was very happy to have my own business, I never truly enjoyed what I was doing. In fact, I have to admit that I dreaded the work. As a result of my lackluster attitude, I never took that business to the level that it could have reached if I had been at all passionate about it.

There is a lot of truth in the saying that “If you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life.” So before rushing headlong into the first business opportunity that comes your way, make sure that you take the time to really consider what is the right business for you, based on your interests, experience, talents and passions. If making money is the only positive factor, then think again. Taking the time to get this first step right, will ensure that you have a rock-solid foundation upon which to build the online success of your dreams.

Title Is Key To Online Success!!

Although webmasters have very different views on what is and what isnt when it comes to seo, in my humble opinon only the search engines themselves no what is. We have a full picture of what it takes to get to the top, but our information into whats most important is mixed up from webmaster to webmaster.

The truth of it is if every webmaster knew what it took to get there, we’d all be #1…..

So its always going to be trial and error, good individual guess work and seeing what works best for other related sites.

Search engines

Search engines are the bread and butter of all websites, so optimising your site is a must if you want online success, higher rankings brings more clicks. With that said being listed in search engines alone is not enough to ensure your business gets the attention it deserves.

Domain name

It’s very important for you to get your own domain name with the keywords you plan on using, as free domains are useless if you are serious about your online business. Getting free domains listed in directories is near impossible and cuts out a huge chunk from your online presence.

Keywords

Keywords is an important factor of seo as search engines use these to judge a sites relevance through textual content.

Images

If your website is image led, the best thing to do is add some text into your images, using ALT in your meta tag; for search engines to read.

Title and description

The most important meta tag to get right is the title and description because search engines use these to judge a sites relevance to a search query from a possible vistor. So your choice of keywords in your title and description is what should make you stand out from the crowd of hundreds of thousands of related websites. Although the description is as important as the title; the title is key to online success.

Link building

Inbound links to your website is crucial to your success online. As a beginner myself with 2 years in the field i thought it about time we outlined some basic information for the beginner in getting links pointing to your website.

Make sure all your pages links are not broken. Google and others see these links as a vote in your link popularity. Find a Google listed site to exchange links with so (youll get listed too; dont worry to much about page rank at this point. Exchange links with this listed site. Here are a few more to get you started, Linkexchange.com, Linkcritic.com, Freshlinks.com.

Ok so your pages links work and you have exchanged links with some listed sites. Now you need some one way links as they weight much more than the exchanged ones. This is because one way links look more natural. There are different ways of achieving this. Somebody likes your site so links to it; at this point highly unlikely. You can hunt for links using Google with keywords such as, Free links, add a link, link submission, link directory.

Submit your site to all the directories you can find, (free and paid) because you want to be listed in pr0 and pr7,8,9 and 10 if you find one:-) The higher ranking directories are most certenly paid for only, but well worth it if you pick the right one.

Bookmarks is another one way link option, register for free with sites such as del.icio.us. Have you got articles written by you that you think would of interest to others?. Another way of getting one way links is to write articles and submit them to article submission sites with rewrite rights so they can be used by other webmasters.

Try joining active forums related to your site, make sure you use the signature option with your posts; you can put your URL here. This might not get you lots of readers but it will double your chances of getting listed with search engines, Just make sure you offer these forums more than just a link to your own site, and stick to forum rules.

These are just a few things that can be done to increase your inbound links and get you listed with search engines and the best thing is; you didn’t submit to them either. The reason for this is, all it takes is a link on someones listed and popular site and you get listed too. Because active sites get spidered all the time, searching for new content.

This is just the start of a long road to number 1 though; of which you may never achieve.
