Maybe you are used to working 8 hour days, but your children are not going to entertain themselves for 8 straight hours! Consider getting up early with them and working while they are distracted with breakfast and early morning cartoons. Take time to play games with them, too. . Tell them what you need to complete and that you will be able to spend time with them once you have finished the work you need to do. Let your children know that, now that they are home for summer, they will have to spend some time entertaining themselves. If your children are begging for your attention, eventually you are going to have to give it to them. Have a list of items you want to complete, and stick to it. Let your children know that when you return you have to get back to work. This works easier if you can do your work in small chunks. It helps to know what work you need to do each day.
